MorganEve and Josie met in the hospital in Boston while their respective partners were receiving bone marrow transplants in adjacent rooms. After the passing of Josie's partner, Andy (DJ A-Dog) in December 2013, she and their community in Burlington VT created the Friends for A_Dog foundation, which supports art, music and skateboarding in the community and works to raise awareness for the need for mixed-ethnicity bone marrow donors.
